December 2025

Quest for Gold

The modern game of cricket goes back to the late 1800s. The same is true for Thailand where cricket started in 1890. There are two young ladies who have been a part of Gethsemane home who have played for Thailand’s women’s national cricket team for several years now. Their names are Rachel and Sunida. Rachel is the daughter of Moses and Yuri, who are a part of the Under the Son Ministries staff, and Sunida lived at Gethsemane Home.

From December 9-20, these two young ladies took part in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, officially titled SEA GAMES Thailand 2025. These Olympic style games saw ten countries participate in 50 different events that took place in Bangkok and its metropolitan area, Chonburi Province and Songkhla Province. The women’s cricket team participated in both the T10 and T20 categories. Moses and Yuri were able to go watch the girls play. As a result of the team’s hard work, they won the gold medal in both categories. Congratulations girls!

A Look Back

We began 2025 in Thailand and will return there soon. As we approach 15 years this June since the beginning of Under the Son Ministries, there is so much that God has accomplished.

Gethsemane Home has seen 35 children grow, learn about Christ, and then graduate from technical school or university. Eleven of these children are still living at Gethsemane Home as they continue their education. A new house was built in 2012, and renovations were completed on the existing buildings. A mission house was built just last year.

We have placed leadership in five churches during this time. Some of the actual church buildings have been renovated, and a couple have seen new builds. Our staff has grown from two in 2011 to currently a total of eight.

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to thank everyone for your support of Under the Son Ministries the last 15 years. We’re excited to see where God will lead us as we continue to work in Thailand. We ask for your prayers that our time in Thailand will be fruitful and God will be glorified.

Growing in Christ

One might say that “Growing” was the theme for this year’s youth camp held at Antioch Church. The theme verse was 1 Peter 1:23, “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” One thing that grew was the number of campers. The number increased from 160 last year to a total of 220 campers this year. They came from Antioch church, Asia’s Hope Foundation, and as far away as Chiang Doi.

The campers started arriving the afternoon of Friday, October 31. They were divided into two groups, youth and children. There were 180 campers between the ages of 10 to 20 that made up the youth group. Besides classes and singing, they participated in many activities including soccer for the boys and chair ball for the girls. There were also 40 campers between the ages of 5 to 9 who were in the children’s group. They participated in many activities including creating paper flowers and playing a balloon game. As you can imagine, the weekend camp needed the help of many staff members.
Most importantly, the camp also saw two baptisms. Praise God!

Christmas at Huai Pong

Christmas! What a great time to share the good news of our Savior, Jesus Christ. On December 6 and 7, Gethsemane Home and members of Antioch Church went to Huai Pong to celebrate Christmas with the villagers there. They were joined in the festivities by Andrew and Naleh who brought several children from Doi Mod village. On Saturday, everyone went over to the school where they played football (soccer) and chairball.

After an evening meal of noodles, the between 80-100 people enjoyed activities which included singing and dancing to Christmas songs and playing games at the church. Everyone then heard Titus give a message on the meaning of Christmas and how Christ came to save us from our sins. This was followed by the giving of gifts to those in attendance. Before going home on Sunday, a worship service was held and lunch was served.

Christmas Homes Tour 2025

Our 9th Annual Christmas Homes Tour took place on Sunday, December 7th, in Maryville. God gave us another beautiful day. Thank you to everyone that attended that day and also stopped by our Pop-up Shop. Ticket holders were able to tour four homes that day. A special thank you to Ryan and Nikki Hackett, Maycee Hoover and Winston Cole, Peyton and Miranda Mizera, and Adam and Cassidy Purdy for opening up their homes.

This fundraiser has been a great addition to our Under the Son Ministries Educational Fund. With three of our children in university at this time, these fundraisers are truly a blessing. We are grateful for your support! Mark December 6th, 2026, on your calendar for the 10th Annual Christmas Homes Tour. Since this will be the 10th year, we are making plans for some added activities for that day and are already lining up homes you won’t want to miss!
