Samuel and Kanda

Samuel and Kanda, Titus and Newa’s son and daughter-in-law, have become a integral part of Under the Son Ministries. We appreciate all they do for the home to help make things run smoothly. They live at Gethsemane Home and even with full-time jobs, they find the time to help with the children and Antioch Christian Church.

Samuel can be found helping Titus with maintenance at the home and going with him to other villages to help with projects. He’s also a part of the worship team at Antioch. One major thing Kanda is able to help with is understanding how difficult life can be at times for the children having lost her own parents at a young age. She also works with the older girls to lead the worship team at the church. You’ll also find her working at the greenhouse (page 3), as she is the one who started it several years ago. Both of them also travel with the family when evangelizing in other villages.

A special thank you to both of them for being such a special part of Under the Son Ministries!

Work Continues at Santisuk

Several months ago, Steve challenged the Christian Men’s Fellowship to raise money for additional repairs at Santisuk Bible Training Center. The primary purpose of the money raised was to replace the interior walls in some of the classrooms. The wood had become damaged due to termites. This time they would be using metal for the studs.

As the UTSM staff got started on the project, it also came to Titus’ attention that there were still places where the roof was leaking. This needed to be addressed before new ceilings could be installed. In addition to fixing the classrooms, Under the Son Ministries also gave money to build 10 metal beds for incoming students. The metal was cut and some of the assembly was done at Gethsemane. After that Titus and Samuel took everything to Santisuk where the beds were welded together and painted.

Maintenance Mode

In the past year, we have worked on maintenance needed at Gethsemane Home. With most of that complete, we are now focusing on the buildings on the church property across from the children’s home. In February, a letter was sent out to address several projects that needed attention. Some of that work has been done, but there is still more to do. One of those projects is replacing some of the ceilings at the multipurpose building. Sadly, the sheetrock material that was used during construction was inferior to what should have been used. Another project that our staff is working on as funds be come available is a wall around the Antioch church property. Our goal is to raise funds ($4,000) to finish these projects by the end of March 2027.

Ravenwood VBS

On July 6-10, Under the Son Ministries was the mission for Ravenwood Christian Church’s VBS program. Each evening from 5:30 to 8 pm, the theme “Illumination Station” was used to shine a light on who Jesus really is. The daily lessons included: Jesus as the Promised Son, the Perfect Son, the Powerful Son, the Proven Son, and God’s Plan for Forgiveness.

As the mission for the week, UTSM was one of the stations that the four groups rotated to during the evening. Steve and Donella shared how the children at Gethsemane Home had a greenhouse that used hydroponics to grow lettuce and wanted to expand it. With the funds received, the greenhouse at Gethsemane Home has been doubled in size with a concrete base. This greenhouse provides food and funds for the home.

A special thank you to Ravenwood Christian Church and the children who attended the VBS!
