We are packing our bags and will be returning to Thailand for an extended period of time. Our first stop will be in Washington, D.C., to spend some time with Elli and our children. We will leave there for Thailand on July 5th and arrive on July 7th. Donella will stay through the end of July, and Steve will not return until September 16th. The construction of the wall around Gethsemane Home has been completed. When we arrived there in January, half of the wall was finished and ready to be painted. We took on this task and completed the painting in two days.
Both the inside and outside of the wall needed to be painted. We started with a primer and finished with a peach color that Newa had selected. It looks great and is the added protection we needed. We hope to paint the rest of the wall when we return in July. (Click on “March 2016” above to view the complete newsletter.)

We have just returned from our trip to Thailand. Many activities took place during this two week visit. We will share more about this trip in our next newsletter. (Click on “December 2015” above to view the complete newsletter.)

Three of the children at Gethsemane Home are now attending universities in Northern Thailand. Two are still in Chiang Mai, and one is in the province of Chiang Rai. They are all doing well. (Click on “September 2015” above to view the complete newsletter.)

It is hard to believe that Donella, Bobbi, and I left for Thailand four years ago! Under the Son Ministries has seen many changes since that day in June 2011 when we met Titus and Newa at Gethsemane Home. We had no idea what God had in store for this ministry! As preparations were being made for our recent trip to Thailand, we knew there were a couple of projects that needed to be completed. The first was playground equipment for the children at Gethsemane Home. (Click on “March 2015” above to view the complete newsletter.)

Another piece of land at Gethsemane Home has been purchased. We want to thank those who made this possible.

Another school year is in full swing for the children at Gethsemane Home. Their school year runs from the middle of May to the middle of March. They are now enjoying their October break and will return to school the end of the month.

I must admit that my April visit back to Thailand didn’t go according to my plan, but it did go according to God’s plan. Yes, we did travel to the Omkoi district and made visits to four Lahu Shehleh villages.

Reaching the Unreached Before Donella and I left Thailand in June of 2013, Titus gave us a list of all the Lahu Sha-leh villages in Northern Thailand.
